Several years ago a small church group in Ventura asked a homeless man named T-Bone how they might be able to accompany him. “If I had clean clothes, I think people would treat me like a human being,” he replied. And Laundry Love was born.
This ministry simply invites people to a laundromat and pays for their loads.
On the third Wednesday of each month, volunteers from Christ Lutheran Church and St. Clement’s by the Sea Episcopal Church welcome guests at Laundry Basket South in San Clemente, 2015 S El Camino Real, San Clemente, CA 92672.
We service all at-risk members of the community. From Young mothers washing bedding and towels, loads which would take an enormous amount of their monthly budget; to single men coming in with one backpack of every bit of clothing they own. People living in local hotels rush back to tell their neighbors to join them. This is practical assistance to those in need.
If you would like to take part in making life a little bit easier for at risk families and individuals, please call the church office at 949-496-2621 or email secretary@clcsanclemente.org.
